Seit April 2025 ist Tina Kretschmer als Professorin für Pädagogische und Entwicklungspsychologie an der FAU tätig und leitet den Lehrstuhl. Frühere Stationen waren die Universität Groningen, Niederlande (Postdoc und Lecturer 2011-2015, Assistant Professor 2015-2018, Associate Professor 2018-2023, Full Professor ab 2023), das University Medical Centre Groningen (Postdoc 2013-2015), das King’s College London, Institute of Psychiatry (Postdoc 2009-2011) und die University of Sussex (2006-2009, Promotion 2010).

Prof. Dr. Tina Kretschmer leitet momentan das ERC Consolidator Projekt PAR2: A new science of Parenting. Zuvor leitete sie Forschungsprojekte und erhielt Förderungen zu intergenerationalen Mechanismen sozialer Entwicklung (ERC Starting Grant, 2018–2023) sowie zur kindlichen Entwicklung in Familien ohne väterliche Präsenz in den Niederlanden und auf Curaçao (FAB, gefördert vom Niederländischen Forschungsrat, 2017–2022).

Seit 2024 ist Prof. Dr. Tina Kretschmer Co-Editorin von Social Development.
